Using  different colored LEGOTM  bricks to represent carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen atoms, respectively, participants will build accurate 3D models of specific molecules and compare the accuracy of models as they pertain to the molecules themselves.

NSTA National Conference: Anaheim 2026

You are invited to present for NMLSTA at the NSTA National Conference in Anaheim, CA, April,15-18, 2026. Because we are an NSTA Affiliate, we have been given the following types of presentations:

  • 2 Poster sessions 
  • 2 Speed-sharing sessions (3 10-minute presentations, each session)
  • 2 30-minute sessions (presentation or roundtable) 
  • 4 hour-long sessions (presentation or workshop)
  • 1 2-hour Share-a-Thon (NMLSTA and NSTA will be responsible for setting up this part of the conference. More information will be available at a later date)

 The NSTA descriptions of each type of session for which we are we are looking for presenters can be found HERE.

If you are interested in presenting and able to attend the conference, please fill out this short interest form. You may select more than one type of presentation but will most likely be offered only one. Please fill out the form on or before September 24, 2025.

We will be in contact with those who fill out the form, to provide more detailed information about submitting for the specific type of presentation you would like to do.

Classroom Teacher Awards


NMLSTA Paul deHart Hurd Award


Kenneth L. Huff has been a public-school science teacher for over 33 years and is currently teaching in the Williamsville Central School District in New York. He is also a Teacher in Residence with Harvard University-LabXchange. Kenneth served two terms on the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) Board of Directors and as president of the Science Teachers Association of New York State and of the Association of Presidential Awardees in Science Teaching. He was a member of the writing team for the Next Generation Science Standards. He was awarded the NSTA Distinguished Teaching Award, National Science Education Leadership Association Outstanding Leadership in Science Education Award, State University of New York Buffalo State Distinguished Alumnus Award, and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Kenneth is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Kenneth has served the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) in multiple capacities including as Co-chair of the Teacher Advisory Council, on the Committee on Science Investigations and Engineering Design Experiences in Grades 6-12 and he presently serves the NASEM on the Collaborative on Advancing Science Teaching and Learning in K-12. Kenneth earned his BS and MS degrees in education at the State University of New York-Buffalo State. He is a National Board-Certified Teacher in Science/Early Adolescence.
